Rokstone expands into Asia Pacific with new marine insurance lead

Rokstone, the international specialty re/insurance Managing General Agent (MGA) and part of the Aventum Group, has announced the appointment of Rama Chandran to lead its business in the Asia Pacific region.

Chandran will join the company following the completion of his notice period at QBE International, where he currently holds the role of Head of Marine – Asia.

He brings over four decades of experience in marine insurance, covering both facultative and treaty business.

His previous roles include senior positions at Argo Underwriting, Asia Capital Re, and Swiss Re.

He has also contributed to several industry bodies, including the International Union of Marine Insurance (IUMI) and the General Insurance Association of Singapore.

Rokstone is establishing a hub in Singapore as part of its regional growth strategy, with Chandran overseeing the development of its Asia Pacific operations.

The new platform will be supported by a multi-year USD 25 million Lloyd’s capacity agreement and will initially focus on marine classes such as Construction (Builders Risk), Cargo, Hull, and Liability.
