Global insurance and reinsurance broking group Howden has announced the appointment of Ben Hanback as Executive Vice President (EVP), Howden US.
Based in Nashville, Tennessee, Hanback will report to Mike Parrish, CEO of Howden US. In his new role, he will play a pivotal role in rapidly expanding Howden’s US Health & Benefits team and supporting the growth of Howden’s operations in Tennessee and the broader Mid-South region.
Hanback will join the Howden US leadership team as the new US retail business continues to build momentum and attract top talent.
He brings nearly 35 years of industry experience, joining Howden from Aon, where he spent almost 10 years, most recently serving as Managing Director and Market Leader.
Prior to that, he was Senior Vice President, Employee Benefits at Regions Financial Corporation. Earlier in his career, he held leadership roles at Hanback, Colonial Life, and Unum.
Parrish said, “Ben has agreed to help me build a new business here in the US and will join us on the leadership team as we continue to offer the market a fresh alternative. Ben will play a key role in advancing the company’s mission to offer clients and carriers greater choice and flexibility in today’s evolving market. I’m delighted to welcome him to the firm.
Hanback commented, “Howden is bringing its employee ownership and people-first culture to the US, and I couldn’t be prouder and more excited to be part of this next chapter in the company’s growth. We’re building a brokerage in the US with true global capabilities, top-tier talent, and unmatched local leadership — a combination like no other.”
