Apollo has announced the appointment of Steve Portman as Head of Energy, effective June 2025.<\/p>\n

\"apollo-logo\"In his new role, Portman will be responsible for enhancing portfolio growth and strengthening market positioning within the energy division.<\/p>\n

Based in London, he will report to Simon Mason, Head of Marine, Energy, and Transportation at Apollo.<\/p>\n

Portman brings 24 years of experience in upstream and midstream energy insurance, having worked as both a broker and underwriter.<\/p>\n

He joins Apollo from MS Amlin, where he served as Lead Underwriter, responsible for driving profitable growth in the upstream energy portfolio, strengthening market relationships across key accounts, and expanding the company\u2019s leadership position.<\/p>\n

Prior to that, Portman spent 15 years at various Lloyd\u2019s brokers. He was a Director at both Thompson Heath & Bond and Howden, and held energy broker roles at Willis and Miller.<\/p>\n
