Willis Re, a specialised reinsurance broker, has announced that industry veteran Neville Ching has joined the company in Bermuda to support the firm’s reinsurance joint venture.
As a reminder, in December 2024, WTW confirmed its plan to re-enter the treaty reinsurance broking market through a joint venture with Bain Capital, with WTW set to hold a minority stake in the new company.
This move follows the 2021 sale of Willis Re’s treaty reinsurance brokerage operations to Gallagher for $3.25 billion.
Ching brings over 25 years of reinsurance broking experience across London, Bermuda, and international markets, with deep industry knowledge and strong global relationships.
He recently founded and launched ReFlex Solutions Ltd, an independent reinsurance brokerage with operations in Bermuda, with plans to expand into London and the USA, where he served as CEO.
Previously, Ching held senior leadership roles at firms including Capsicum Re and Aon.
Ching commented, “I am excited to be part of this new venture from the outset. I look forward to working with colleagues to deliver real impact and to help shape a differentiated approach in the market.”
Lucy Clarke, Willis Re Board Member, added, “It is a privilege to welcome Neville, whose expertise and reputation will be a tremendous asset to Willis Re.”
