SanlamAllianz Re’s Synapse 2025 event served as a catalyst for bold dialogue, strategic partnerships, and forward-thinking innovation, reinforcing confidence in Africa’s future, according to the reinsurance provider’s CEO, Ilyes Hassib.
More than just a conference, the three-day Synapse 2025 event in Mauritius brought together participants to engage with bold ideas, challenge traditional models, and forge connections across industries and borders.
Drawing a diverse mix of thought leaders and change-makers, the event illuminated the complex challenges and emerging opportunities shaping Africa’s evolution.
“With a fusion of international perspectives and homegrown innovation, SanlamAllianz Re Synapse 2025 served not just as a forum, but as a launchpad for meaningful partnerships, sustainable growth, and enduring influence,” SanlamAllianz Re explained.
Day One kicked off with a keynote from David Rowan, Founding Editor of WIRED UK, who unpacked how emerging technologies are rapidly redefining the business landscape.
On Day Two, a panel of influential voices—moderated with finesse by Ramia Farrage of Forbes Middle East tackled the key forces shaping Africa’s future, including innovation, sustainability, and regional integration.
The event culminated in a black-tie gala at Château Labourdonnais, where guests celebrated a defining achievement in SanlamAllianz Re’s journey: its recent A- (Excellent) rating from AM Best.
Ilyes Hassib, CEO of SanlamAllianz Re, commented, “Synapse was born from a clear ambition to connect minds, spark ideas, and open meaningful conversations about the future of Africa. We created this platform for leaders, experts, and innovators to come together, challenge norms, and prepare for what’s next.
“As we celebrate our A- (Excellent) rating from AM Best, we’re celebrating more than just recognition. We’re celebrating trust, the trust of our partners, the strength of our team, and above all, our belief in Africa’s future.”
